College friends got me involved in setting up Lake Tahoe's Lights on the Lake 4th of July fireworks show in 2001. For several years I worked that show and a few others, also doing my best to photograph the fireworks with my DSC-707. Since 2004 I mostly visited Orange County shows, shooing with my 40D. Apart from the technical challenges, photographing fireworks requires and understanding of their setup, construction and operation.
