Mechs are piloted robots that replace the base Tribes armors. There are 12 Mechs of different sizes in hvMechWarrior-v14, each dedicated to a specific task. Since there are only five basic 3D models to work with and 12 Mechs, I had to develope a system of mounting various components on each Mech so that players can identify them more easily in battle.

Light Mechs:            
    The Wasp is the smallest, fastest Mech. It has limited weapons and armor and operates best as a scout. It can use MASC, to extend its speed and jumping.

    The Commando is designed for scout/sniping roles. Designed for fast travel at the expense of armor, the Commando has access only to lighter weapons, with the exception of the powerful Light Gauss Rifle.

    The Panther is the Mech hvMechWarrior players spawn in. It is fast, mobile and can use a fair variety of weapons. It is the lightest Mech able to carry the PPC.

Medium Mechs:
    The Centurion is a powerful Medium Mech, able to carry many weapons - including all lasers. It has good speed and armor, but is slower to maneuver and overheats more quickly when jump-jetting.

    The Hunchback is a killer of larger Mechs. Able to carry the powerful Ultra-AC20 it can make short work of any Mech should the Hunchback be able to close within range.

Heavy Mechs:
   
The HellBringer is a jack-of-all-trades. It can carry the Gauss Rifle and all but the heaviest weapons. It has good physical qualities and no glaring weaknesses.

    The Archer is designed for artillery support. While it has poor melee abilities, the Archer can lay down devastating firepower at long range and it has tough armor.

    The Warhammer has the widest range of weapons of any Heavy Mech. It has limited Jump Jets and armor, but very good mobility on foot.

Assault Mechs:
   
The Charger is a huge Mech designed specifically for ramming other Mechs. Its weapon choices are very limited, but it is fast and can inflict crushing blows on enemies via "Death From Above" (for a picture click HERE).

    The BattleMaster is an assault Mech designed for open-field battle. It has good mobility for such a large Mech, and can carry most weapons.

    The Cyclops is a command and control Mech. It can deploy any turret, and control them at will through use of the command screen. Its weapon choices offer good anti-sniper as well as light melee capabilities.

    The Atlas is the largest Mech. Its poor mobility makes it best suited for urban battles, but its weapon load and armor make it fearsome at any range.
